We have a proud history of Market Trading here in Newent – we received our first Royal Charter back in 1226!
Today, markets, fairs and street trading help make our town centre a vibrant place to be.They bring a wide range of local produce and unique crafts to town and give local growers and makers, small and growing businesses flexible opportunities to trade.

We have a range of regular and occasional markets happening in Newent throughout the year.
Monthly 3rd Saturday Market
The third Saturday of every month 7am to 1pm in the Market Square. A wide range of local produce, crafts, cakes, plants, gifts, street food and more.
Thursday Market
Thursdays in the Market Square for a wide range of clothing and accessories.
Newent Christmas Lights Extravaganza – Saturday 29th November
Lots of festive food and drink stalls and unique gift ideas, entertainment and a parade in the town centre, before the big “OOOOO!!!” moment.
To trade at Newent Town Council Markets you must first complete this short online Registration form.
To trade with us you will need Public Liability Insurance to cover to at least £5 million, relevant Food Hygiene and safety certificates and we will ask you to complete a Risk Assessment.
Once you have registered, use the link below and your trader membership number to book stalls.
Once you have registered and attended a market you will also be included in our traders directory above.
Our standard charge for a single trading stall is £10. This charge applies to a single gazebo, up to 2 tables under our market house, or a single food truck or trailer. For other set ups please contact us.
We do not currently provide tables or chairs. We do have a limited supply of electricity and Council owned gazebos which are available at no extra charge.
Supporting Our Community
The revenue generated from market trading fees is used by the council to support a range of community events throughout the year. Thank you for helping us make this happen.
Charity and Community Group Stalls
We encourage charities and community groups to come to our markets and pitches are available free of charge. Contact us for more details.
